What is the welding technology of lithium battery pack welding machines?

　　Lithium battery pack welding machineThe spot welder of lithium battery pack welding machine is the main welding method of pressure welding. Resistance welding is a method of joining welding pieces together. The lithium battery intelligent spot welder applies pressure through electrodes, using the resistance heat generated by the current passing through the joint and the adjacent area contact surface. The main characteristics of resistance welding are: the welding voltage is very low (1-12V), the welding current is very large (tens to thousands of amperes), and the time to complete a joint welding is very short (0.01 to several seconds), thus resulting in high productivity; during heating, mechanical pressure is applied to the joint, and the joint is welded under pressure; welding does not require filler metal. Resistance welding is widely used, especially in the automotive and aircraft manufacturing industries. For example, there are millions of weld points on new airplanes. Resistance welding is used in spacecraft, semiconductor devices, and integrated circuit components. Therefore, resistance welding is one of the important welding methods. According to different process methods, resistance welding is divided into spot welding, seam welding, and butt welding. Here, only spot welding is introduced.

The battery welder of lithium battery pack welding machine is a resistance welding method, where the welding pieces are assembled with joints, pressed between two electrodes, and the base material is melted by resistance heat to form weld points. Spot welding is mainly used for connecting thin plates, such as aircraft skin, aircraft engine chimneys, and automobile cockpit shells.

　　2. The main components of the lithium battery pack welding machine spot welder include the frame, welding transformer, electrodes and electrode arms, pressure mechanism, and cooling water circuit. The welding transformer is a spot welding device with only one secondary circuit. The upper and lower electrodes and electrode arms are used not only to conduct welding current but also to transmit power. The cooling water path passes through the transformer, electrodes, and other parts to avoid heating. During welding, the cooling water should be connected first, followed by the power switch. The quality of the electrode directly affects the welding process, welding quality, and productivity. The electrode materials are usually made of purple copper, cadmium bronze, chromium bronze, etc.; the shape of the electrodes varies, mainly determined by the shape of the welding pieces. When installing the electrodes, care should be taken to keep the upper and lower electrode surfaces parallel; the electrode surfaces should be kept clean and regularly dressed with sandpaper or files.

　　The spot welding process of the lithium battery pack welding machine is as follows:

　　1. Open cooling water;

　　2. Clean the surface of the welding pieces, accurately assemble them, and send them between the upper and lower electrodes, applying pressure to ensure good contact;

　　3. Electrify the contact surfaces of the two workpieces to heat them, partially melting them to form a molten core;

　　4. After power off, maintain pressure to allow the molten core to cool and solidify under pressure, forming a weld point;

　　5. Release pressure and remove the workpiece.
