Application of Laser Soldering Technology in Button Battery

Button batteries generally consist of a main control chip, battery, flexible circuit board, and controller, among which the cost of the battery accounts for about 10% to 20%. Laser welding technology can meet the diverse processing technology of button batteries, such as welding of different materials (stainless steel, aluminum alloy, nickel, etc.), irregular welding trajectories, excellent welding appearance, strong welds, finer welding points, and more precise positioning of welding areas. 1. Higher energy density, making it easier to reach the material absorption threshold (especially for high-reflectivity materials, the advantage is more obvious).
2. Various welding trajectory patterns can be achieved, such as sinusoidal, spiral, and spiral point shapes.
3. Smaller weld spots and larger depth-to-width ratios of welds, allowing for a larger contact area with the same weld point size, resulting in greater weld strength and tensile force.
4. Higher power density. Its welding principle differs from traditional welding based on large molten pools, resembling the effect of embedded welding, which can achieve higher weld strength, especially advantageous in welding different materials, reducing the formation of brittle compounds.
