It can connect different materials or the same materials through laser, allowing them to merge by raising the temperature of the materials themselves through the energy converted from the laser output. There are many types of laser welding machines. Most of the energy from the laser that hits their surface is reflected. The higher the conductivity, the higher the reflectivity. Sometimes, to better weld related materials, a high-power laser is needed to generate enough energy to complete the welding tasks, but the cost is also quite high.
Types of laser welding equipment and their corresponding Applications:
CO2 laser: Mainly used for marking and cutting non-metallic materials, with high power, but requires maintenance and replacement of related parts, and is gradually being replaced by other lasers.
Fiber laser: Can weld, mark, and cut metal materials, with limited small-scale applications for non-metal marking. When used for welding or cutting, the power can reach 300-5000W.
YAG laser: This laser mainly requires optical path design and calibration, which takes a lot of time. Currently, it is mainly used for metal welding, with a power generally below 1000W, but the beam quality is still good.
Semiconductor laser: Laser welding equipment equipped with semiconductor lasers has a wide welding range and high welding quality, but its welding speed is relatively low, mainly because the power of semiconductor lasers is generally not high. However, its welding quality and the types of materials it can weld are unmatched by other lasers.

Its process technology is also unattainable by other traditional welding methods.
The new characteristics of laser welding technology are fast welding speed, uniform energy distribution, small weld seams, small heat-affected zones, no need for post-processing, smooth welding surfaces, and strong welding strength. The key point is that its welding cost is low. A laser welding machine can cost around 100,000 yuan, or even more than 200,000 yuan, but in long-term industrial production applications, it is the most advantageous, with a higher cost-performance ratio and better process quality, making it an essential tool for future industrial production.
