The "blade battery" is a new product independently created by BYD, utilizing a seven-dimensional four-layer battery safety system that has corresponding protective measures at every dimension and level. Among them, the four levels refer to the cell, module, battery pack, and system, while the seven dimensions include reliable connection, high voltage protection, collision, overcharge, short circuit, and thermal runaway, providing comprehensive and effective protection for battery safety. The blade battery also brings two major conveniences to the vehicle layout design: first, designers can flexibly design the overall size of the battery pack according to different vehicle models; second, the battery pack occupies less space inside the vehicle, thereby providing passengers with a more spacious area and a more comfortable experience.
